| Introduction | I got a chance to start life over, again, and I'm taking the opportunity to finally get my bachelor's degree. ----- I'm currently a student at ASU, Arizona State University, and I should graduate at the age of 50 or so. ----- I picked English for my major because I love writing. Regardless of my skill at this point, I hope to improve. ----- I'd like to use writing to tell both fiction and non-fiction stories; my own and other people's stories. ----- I find that stories have tremendous power and can be surprisingly transformative. They connect people who might not otherwise think they had connections. They can be boldly empowering to those who feel they have no voice. They convey our best and our worst. ----- Most of all, I want to bring connection with my writing. I want to connect people. With connection comes understanding, acceptance, support, love. With connection can come peace. |
