Introduction Born in Montreal and raised outside of Toronto, I attended journalism school and was so mortified by the apparent protocols that I dropped out immediately and began writing freelance. Ignoring all the generic, unlettered advice by my professors, I soon began selling freelance articles sparsely. In 2004, I scooped the rest of the media in discovering Sum 41 was trapped between warring militias in Congo. Later that year, I voted three times in the Canadian federal election as a way of shining a spotlight on the flawed electoral system. This act led to international coverage, criminal proceedings and an eventual fine and conviction. Since then, the freelance game has all but evaporated and I have submitted to the blogosphere. I still interview various celebrities and once in a while will act as a source for other writers and editors.
