Introduction In 2006, I took a leap of faith to repatriate me and my family to The Gambia, West Africa. We would embark on a journey that has been remarkable, but at the same time very difficult. As a believer in the unity and spirit of Africa, I never felt quite that america was my total home, with all the insults and disparity that my people continue to feel in the americas, my desire was to be in Afrika where there is resounding presence of history, culture and a dynamic environment that is shaping for the future. While all of my dreams did not manifest, I at least lived in the Gambia for period over a year and a half, and have since had to return to america, like many immigrants come to the US to find opportunity and work. However, I am not looking for the american dream, I am looking for the Afrikan dream, and while I am in exile, I hope to return with all that I came for.
