| Introduction | "I’ve had a long and kind of passionate relationship with photography as an artistic medium. I started very young. I made black and white images in a dark room; photos of everything: people, places, things. I sold them to friends, book stores, tourists in New York, anyone who wanted to see them. It’s very much the same these days; make photos and paintings and sell them. It’s fun and challenging." Douglas Kennedy is a well-known creative photographer based in Kitsilano, Vancouver, B.C. since 1985. His experience includes a combination of studies in the U.S., freelancing in the New York and Paris fashion photography worlds, and extensive world travels. He is a family man and has created a very unique body of work including family, friends, hand-made houses and objects of art. He teaches photography locally at Raycan Community Centre, and recently became part of the photography and exploration program as an instructor in France. dcwk_50@yahoo.com |
