| Introduction | Like almost everyone in the non-profit sector, I stumbled into my career. After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, I spent a decade working in the private sector. By chance, I discovered an incredible little charity starting an office in Canada to support their work overseas. After nearly 3 years building a national fundraising plan with International Justice Mission Canada, and seeing revenues climb from half a million per year to over two million per year, I made the move to a more local charity. As Director of Development, and later Director of Development and Operations, I helped Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta double revenue from their flagship event, The Calgary Business Hall of Fame. I assisted in the development of a major gifts program that led to a sustainable revenue source that nearly double the organization's annual budget. Now, as President and CEO, I have successfully grown the organizations reach and balanced the budget during an economically trying time. |
