Introduction Aditya Ghose is Professor of Computer Science at the University of Wollongong (UoW) and Director of its Decision Systems Lab. He holds a PhD and MSc in Computing Science from the University of Alberta, Canada (he also spent parts of his PhD at the Beckman Institute, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and the University of Tokyo) and a Bachelor of Engineering (Comp. Sc. and Engg.) from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. While at the University of Alberta, he received the Jeffrey Sampson Memorial Award. . His research is funded by the Australian Research Council, the Canadian NSERC, the Japanese Inst. for Advanced IT (AITEC), some Australian government agencies and companies such as Infosys, IBM, Bluescope Steel and CSC. He is a senior technical advisor to several companies in Australia and Canada. He is: Research Leader - Cooperative Research Centre for Smart Services, Co-Director - Centre for Oncology Informatics at theUoW Health and Medical Research Institute, Co-Leader - UoW Carbon-Centric Computing Initiative, Co-Convenor - Australian Computer Society NSW SIG on Green ICT, Vice-President - CORE (Australia's apex body for computing academics).
