| Introduction | I am an assistant professor in the School of Communication Studies at James Madison University, and I have been a faculty member at JMU since 1998. I teach one section of the Fundamental Human Communication course every fall semester and I have served as the GCOM Basic Course Director in the General Education Program since 2003. One of my research interests focuses on the assessment of cognitive, behavioral, and affective measures on communication competence. In addition to teaching a GCOM course, I teach the following classes: Introduction to Communication Research, Introduction to Organizational Communication, Advanced Studies in Organizational Communication, and Business & Professional Communication. I live in Harrisonburg with my wife, Joan (who is a kindergarten teacher at Spotswood Elementary School), and our four cats (Jori, Ersatz, Little One, and Abigail). |
