| Introduction | My primary goal these days is to be a hands-on dad who'll raise two children to be happy, healthy, productive members of society who will be able to think for themselves, question rules and standards that make no sense, and help transform our world -- in at least some small way -- into a better place for everyone. Two will-raised children seems like a good goal. Despite my imperfections, I figure I have a good chance of achieving this goal, too, since three kids -- ages 8 to 12 -- are in my care. My stretch goal is to have all three become that good stuff, of course, but most days it seems like I'm failing with at least one of them. |
