Introduction After finishing school in the “Württembergisches Allgäu”, I graduated in biochemistry and did a doctorate in bioinformatics. This was followed by a short post-doc in an EU project and a staff member position at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) in Cambridge, UK. Then, I moved to Novartis AG in Basel, CH. There I was delegated to evaluate Singapore as a location for an institute for tropical diseases. On site, I was working with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), a lead government agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, local scientific leaders and Novartis colleagues to develop the foundations for this institute. Currently I am studying “Leadership and Management” at the MIT Sloan School of Management in Cambridge MA, USA and work at “Experimenta” in Heilbronn. Besides, I also was an elite infantry soldier in the spearhead of NATO, have enjoyed extensive combined arms combat training, and eventually worked in the General Staff. My unit still provides contingents for the NATO “Very High Readiness Joint Task Force” (VJTF). During my leisure time, I am passionate for adventure sports from alpinism, base jumping, or climbing to wingsuit flying.
Interests As a person, I strive to overcome my mental and physical limitations, even though this is difficult and nature will always be superior to us humans.
