Introduction | I'm a veteran health care public relations counselor, founder of the Porter Novelli health care practice, where I spent most of my career. I am proud to have helped launch some of the most important medicines of the last 20 years. Currently I'm a freelance consultant, working with great HC companies such as AstraZeneca and Abbott, with medical data companies and advertising and public relations agencies on a variety of communications projects. Together with several PN alums, I am also helping to rebrand an international medical society. Outside of science and marketing, I am very involved in international and political affairs (almost got my masters in international relations) and am desperately trying to perfect my rowing (though on hiatus for the winter). Late in my career I have returned to school, pursuing my masters in health communications at Boston University. Better late than never. I get too little sleep, worry about the kids too much and fret about the future. Fortunately, I have also gotten interesting in wine tasting, which helps with the last two items. |
Interests | Science and medicine, rowing, international affairs, wine tasting, long distance running, the kids, etc. Also pursuing Master degree at Boston University in Health Communications |
Favorite music | Rock, classical, medieval, folk |
Favorite books | Check out Andy Nagorski's "Hitlerland," about Americans living in Germany before World War II. Andy is a neighbor here in Pelham. Also look at "The Checklist Manifesto" by Atul Gwante. It's a thoughtful discussion of something way obvious that's often neglected.. |
