| Introduction | My great-grandmother, Betsy Elizabeth Cooper Stanhope Eales, lived in Hebron, Wisconsin from 1862 until her death in 1899. Her home was left to her youngest child Daisy Maud Eales Noyes. She and Grandpa Noyes lived in that home for a great part of their 60 married years together. They had only one child, my mother Arlene Noyes Conner. All three women were hoarders, in the best sense of the word! I'm #4! MUCH to the consternation of my husband Clare! When Mom died in 1993--you should see what I inherited! What a treasure! Antique photo albums from the 1800s, correspondence dating back to 1869..... It took me years to go through the correspondence sorting it chronologically! As I'm getting older I'm having to face the fact that I will NEVER get to do what I wanted to do with it if I lived to be 200! Thus--this blog. It's my way of sharing with known and unknown family and friends a part of my history. You'll find some pictures I've been unable to identify--hope some of you can help with these! I'll also be including many gems related to Clare's Sampley and Kendall lines. |
