| Introduction | Ah, the joys of choosing a dissertation topic. Let's see, what topic interests me enough, will make a meaningful contribution to making the world a more equitable and just place, and can be completed before I qualify for social security benefits...? It's been a stressful process, but I finally (gulp!) am narrowing down my ideas into a single, cohesive idea. Will it change the world? Perhaps in some small way. Will it provide an educational experience that expands my understanding of the complexities of the human condition and position me for a career in which I can make a difference in the future? Yes. After too much time pondering the implications of this or that idea, it's finally time to take a leap of faith and go out into the world and see and do things for myself. Get ready to jump... |
