| Introduction | I have lived in Rome for over four years, and in Italy, on and off, for twelve. An American ex-pat and the daughter of a diplomat, I grew up traveling Europe, East and West. I have lived in seven countries, seventeen cities, and moved twenty-eight times. At the moment, apart from writing, I also work as a translator and English teacher, the latter two being only the latest in a long list of occupations. Some of the more interesting of these have been editorial assistant and staff writer for the late, Manhattan-based ITALIA Magazine, New York City bartender, nightclub singer and street musician. I never know what will happen next or where I'll be in a year. I wouldn't change that for the world, but Italy is the place I come home to. |
