| Introduction | We are from Barrie Ontario Canada and began sailing in 1995 after purchasing our first sailboat, a CS 27, named 3 Lovers. Very early in our sailing careers we discovered that both of us enjoyed the cruising life style while traveling around Lake Simcoe. Our frequent treks to Georgian Bay and the North Channel on Lake Huron only increased our desire to cruise. The dream to take on a larger journey prompted us to sell 3 Lovers and acquire a larger boat for a trip to points south. In 2002, after much searching and numerous attempts to buy several boats, we purchased Raft. She is a 1982 C&C Landfall 38 and we were able to purchase her from her original owner. We felt certain this boat that had successfully cruised the Great Lakes for the past 20 years, would take us to Caribbean and Central America if we can endure the trip. |
