| Introduction | Stephen C. Smith is a free-lance writer, among other career pursuits. Stephen wrote for Star Trek and Babylon 5 licensees in the 1990s. Among his clients were Playmates Toys, Titan Publishing, Boxtree Limited, and Fleer/Skybox International. Because he had to know those shows, Stephen had access to their sound stages and photo archives. He interviewed cast and crew members. He spent time in the Paramount and Warner Bros. archives reorganizing their publicity slides and images. In the late 1980s - early 1990s, Stephen ran the GEnie Science Fiction RoundTable. The SFRT hosted Star Trek: The Next Generation cast and crew members, giving members a direct pipeline to TNG behind the scenes. Stephen moved to Merritt Island, Florida in 2009 to work in NASA education programs at Kennedy Space Center. Now retired, he's completing a book about Florida space politics. (It's more interesting than it sounds, honest.) Stephen considers himself a Trekker, not a Trekkie. Nothing personal. |
