Occupation Stay At Home MUM
Location North west England
Introduction I am a stay at home mum of two beautiful kids, domestic goddess (yeah right!)and cleaning lady (well my day seems to consist of picking up the same thing 500 times a day.. how does it get back there!!!). I used to be well educated (I got a 2:1 degree in med science). I used to work as a project manager for a large pharmaceutical company (I loved the challenge, the pressure and the travel) but I gave it up to stay home and raise my kids. I have thrown myself wholeheartedly into this most worthy of jobs even if it is unrecognised and unpaid. I see it as a job and do it to the best of my ability every day, actively seeking how I can improve and do it better.
Interests I love cooking and can usually be found in my kitchen with my hands in a bowl of something, stirring therapeutically at the stove whilst singing (badly I'll add) at the top of my voice with wooden spoon microphone or with my nose in a cookbook/food blog gaining inspiration. After the kids have gone to bed I get out the computer and get to work writing my cookbook. I'm hoping it might get published someday.Who knows, if you don't have a dream how you gonna make a dream come true!! I've also become obsessed with researching my family tree. I've managed to go really far back and have found out some really interesting things so am in the process of writing it up for future generations. I love love love reading however while I'm still getting up for night breastfeeds I'm lucky if I can read more than a line without falling asleep !! I love organising events, parties and family get togethers. I always go all out for a theme. I am the theme queen. Give me an event or party to organise and I'm in my element. I always make the effort.
Favorite Movies Recently Mamma Mia ( I just loved it). Anything from the 80's such as Topgun, Dirty Dancing, Footloose, The Secret of my Success, Flashdance etc, Sweet Home Alabama, Weepies such as Steel Magnolia's, The Notebook, Anne of Green Gables ( I love a good cry in front of a film) Anything with James MacAvoy -phowarghhh!!
Favorite Music I like alot of different music: Coldplay, Kings of Leon, 80's stuff from my school days, Celine Dion (that singing I mentioned in the kitchen!!), Keane, Duffy, Shania Twain...etc etc. I'm a lyrics girl.. I love to read the lyrics of a song - good words, good song.
Favorite Books The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood ( I must have read this 20 add times), The Harry Potter books, Jane Eyre & Wuthering Heights, Trinity & others by Leon Uris. I like page turners that have me reading whenever I can get a spare minute and keep me up all night or ones that I don't want to end or a fantastic story that stays with me well after I've finished reading.
