Introduction	My name is Vidya. I am a vegan/daughter/ sister/wife/mom/coffee-drinker/booklover. I live with my dear husband (DH) and son (DS) in the beautiful San Francisco Bay area. I was raised as a vegetarian. I turned vegan around the beginning of 2010, shortly after the birth of my son. Nursing him made me realize the amazing instinct that all parents have about protecting and nurturing their babies, regardless of whether the parents are humans or cows. Plus, the cruelty that cows and hens suffer so that we may enjoy milk products and eggs seems totally preventable to me. So, try a glass of soy/almond milk or use flaxseed in a recipe. The road to change begins with small steps.
