| Introduction | Throughout the many years I have been in the emergency services, I am often asked "What’s it like?" or "What’s the worst fire and/or ambulance call you've ever been on?" Although you'll never truly understand what it’s like unless you do it, this blog was created to help answer some of those questions. Along with stories of the calls, you will read about life at the firehouse and life as a firefighter in general. Some of what you read will be funny and others, not so much. I will give you fair warning, this is going to be as in your face and brutally honest as it is in person, as you read you'll find that there is nothing "PC" about the job we do, it's about saving lives, being "PC" isn't exactly a top priority. Finally, to protect those persons and or departments that may not wish to have their names plastered all over someone's blog, Names will be changed and no department names will be used. You will also notice that my name will also not be mentioned as this isn't intended to be my story, but more the story of what it's like to do and be a part of what I would consider to be the best job in the world. |
