| Introduction | I just like books. I love libraries. I’ll walk into anywhere selling more than two paperbacks and find something to drop coin on to “tickle the economy”. I like to read them. I like looking at the way they are put together, the binding, the weight of the paper… of course that booky wooky smell. I enjoy giving my two cents on what I’ve read or listened to (audiobooks are books, we can fight about it later). Occasionally a movie review pops in too but only if I can remember the movie content more than an hour later which is even harder these days. Working with ARCs of books is especially great, while my readership may be limited to random google searches and relatives; if I can get the word out to even those folks about a new authors and independent publishers splashing into the scene then I’m feeling pretty accomplished. When authors have the trust and vulnerability to let you into their worlds early for feedback and critiques, that’s a pretty cool responsibility too. I read. I drink tea. I pet the cat – unless she says no in which case the dogs are always willing. |
