| Introduction | I was born in Bittburg, Germany, near an American Air Force Base. Since then, I have lived in other parts of Germany, as well as England, Bermuda, Belgium, the Netherlands, West Virginia, North Carolina, and New Jersey. I have BA (English) and MA (Education) from West Virginia University, and I also hold a MFA in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
