Introduction LaLona Richards is a Distinguished Majors graduate from the University of Virginia with a double major in Philosophy and Government and received her Master’s Degree in Education from Arizona State University. First introduced to education as a teacher in the Teach for America program, she now works as a literacy consultant serving mainly in low-income school districts. Her career experiences motivated her to found her personal charity, Frankie’s First, which works to get on-reading-level books into the homes of students living in high-poverty areas. LaLona’s second passion is fitness and nutrition. She works as a personal trainer in the early hours before her husband, Dan, leaves for work. Although incredibly passionate about health and education, LaLona’s first and foremost passion is her family. She is the proud wife to Dan and mom to Brendan (3) and Hadley (1). Her favorite activities include bedtime stories, dancing in the living room with the boys, and seeing both toddlers fold their arms for prayer.
Interests LaLona’s number one focus is her faith and her family. She is married to Dan Richards, a tax accountant, and the mother of two young boys: Brendan (3) and Hadley (1).
