IntroductionRev. Leon Ngandu, SVD, is a native of the Democratic Republic of Congo (D.R. Congo) and a naturalized United States citizen. He is a Roman Catholic Religious Priest. His religious congregation is in Latin, Societas Verbi Divini (SVD), which means the Society of the Divine Word. They are commonly known as SVDs or the Divine Word Priests and Brothers. Fr. Ngandu was ordained a priest in 2012 in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and moved to the United States of America (USA) in 2013. Because French is his first language, Fr. Ngandu studied English at the Divine Word College in Epworth, Iowa (USA), from August 2013 to May 2014. Since July 2014, he has served in various parishes, schools, and hospitals (as a chaplain). He is currently the pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jackson, MS, USA, and the Biblical Apostolate Coordinator for the SVD missionaries working in the Southern Province of the United States. He is well-known for the retreats, sessions, recollections, and missions/revivals he preaches across the country and overseas. Fr. Ngandu has a Master of Theological Studies degree from the University of Dallas with a Concentration in Biblical theology (2023).
