Industry Education
Introduction So many decisions to make about how to write "About Me." Do I begin as a novel might? "It all began in a small town in the Midwest..." Or "She was born on a wintry day, the youngest of three in a farmer's family." Or should I organize by priority? "Daughter of the King, wife of a prince, mother of three royal characters, friend of nobility (as well as a few peons!--Ha!), sister to my sistas-and-bruthas-from-otha-muthas (as well as a few from the same mutha), teacher, aspiring speaker/writer, harmonizing background vocalist, lover of seafood and pizza..." Or should I self-disclose in resume' format? "Education: BS in Speech Communication, MA in Speech Communication... Employment: Taught college English for over a decade, developed and presented corporate training workshops, worked as office manager." Or maybe it should read like a classified ad? "MWF seeks deep relationship with Creator of Universe. Wants others to have it too." Ugh! It's too hard to decide! I guess you'll have to go without knowing "About Me." :-)
Interests Havin' "God talks" with my buddies. Jammin' with my hubby and FCC Praise Band. Hangin' at home with the fam. Reading. Lately we've gone on a bedroom re-do kick for the girlios, so that's been fun.
Favorite Movies Oh, man...I'm gonna get flack for this one: Moulin Rouge (Come on! Their voices sound AWESOME together!)
Favorite Music Pretty much anything by Clint Brown. Sting. Mercy Me. I like a variety of musical styles. Memories from high school are triggered by old favorites from Bon Jovi, Duran Duran, Prince, Bryan Adams, and the Beastie Boys...oh yeah!
Favorite Books Holy Bible, Secrets of the Vine by Bruce Wilkinson, and I love reading the Junie B. Jones series with my girls. In terms of "Classic Literature" I like Nathaniel Hawthorn (especially the short story "Young Goodman Brown"), Chaucer, and (cliche', I know) Shakespeare.
