| Introduction | I sell beaded stars handmade by Masai tribeswomen in Tanzania to support the education of a 6 year old orphan with spina bifida named Tumaini (the Swahili word for Hope). I met Tumaini in 2007 while volunteering at an orphanage and have been completely educated and inspired by her. It is my goal to sell enough stars to pay for her education so she can one day lift herself out of poverty. In 2012 we hope to raise enough money to visit a neurosurgeon in the capital city of Tanzania, Dar es Salaam, so her spina bifida can be properly treated. |
