Introduction Ms. Evans believes divine intervention brought her to Temple and a year later to Christ Church School following a 7 year retirement from teaching art for 13 years in the Austin ISD. She earned her degree in Liberal Arts from Colorado Women's College, and while in graduate school at TWU majored in ceramics, where she was a graduate teaching assistant. Syllabus: The underlying purpose of an art program is to cultivate the child's imagination and equip them with aesthetic skills for art appreciation and self-expression. A comprehensive list of media includes: drawing, painting, collage, print-making, mixed-media, sculpture, fiber, and clay. Using their five senses, intellect and intuition, students will create age appropriate artworks, using a variety of materials while developing manipulative skills and deepening their understanding of art history and culture as records of human achievement. Students will learn criteria for expressing ideas about personal artworks and those of peers and well-known artists.
