Introduction I currently work as a Principal Lecturer in tertiary teacher education at Otago Polytechnic. I am an experienced educational designer and staff developer. For my Doctorate in Education research, I investigated the use of a Three-Step Reflective Framework to support professional learning and reflective practice. I use this framework to scaffold the development of tertiary teachers' electronic portfolios. My professional interests relate to the use of open education resources and practices, social networked media and mobile devices for flexible learning and teaching. I promote educational design that helps to develop capability in digital information literacy. Teaching and research publications.
Interests Walking in the countryside with my husband and our dog, supporting my wonderfully creative adult children, movies, unusual TV series e.g True Blood, Game of Thrones and Walking Dead are current favourites.
Favorite Movies Love story, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Mad Max, Star Wars.
Favorite Music Any kind of rock music. Folk and country music by people like Johnny Cash. Anything by Leonard Cohen, Sting, The Outsiders (http://nzmusic.org.nz/artists/punk-hardcore/the-outsiders/) and Adele.
Favorite Books Anything by Margaret Atwood, Doris Lessing, Jane Austen and Toni Morrison. I also love dystopian and post-apocalyptic novels. Currently reading: Blood Red Road by Moira Young.
