About me

Gender Female
Industry Publishing
Occupation website writer (which pays) novelist, (no income there) past bookseller (dismal wages but a whole lotta work)
Introduction I began writing at seven and since then have never wanted to do anything else (although I have no talent in the selling aspect of things). I've worked as an editor and a bookseller, serving as coordinator between my bookstore and publishers. I've composed marketing articles on various subjects for online companies, artists, and writers' websites. In spare moments, I work on perfecting my own vision, a series falling into the category of historical fiction with touches of magical realism. The series has underlying themes of spirituality and historical clashes between the sexes. Growing in importance is telling the stories I want to tell, in the fashion I want to tell them, (and I have no talent in the selling aspect of things...) so I'm contemplating the Indie route.
Interests I love movies and books although I am disappointed with so much that is being routinely published. I am also fascinated by volcanoes and have climbed two: Mt. St. Helen's and Mauna Kea. Also have explored Kilauea.
Favorite Movies Braveheart, Return of the King, Pan's Labyrinth, The Money Pit, Dangerous Beauty, V for Vendetta, The Green Mile, Under the Tuscan Sun, Parenthood and oh yeah: Return to Me, (my guilty pleasure.)
Favorite Music I've been listening to the Theta Meditation System. James Horner is my favorite contemporary composer, followed very closely by Thomas Newman.
Favorite Books "We" Yvengy Zamyatin "The Last Unicorn" Peter Beagle "The Woman's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets" Barbara G Walker "Ancient Mirrors of Womanhood" Merlin Stone "The King Must Die" Mary Renault "The Goose Girl" Shannon Hale, and many more
