| Introduction | Marc Montocchio has been a professional photographer since the mid 90’s. He has travelled the world's oceans photographing animals from the tiniest of shrimps to the largest of mammals. His work has appeared internationally in numerous magazines such as National Geographic, in commercial advertising, and on the covers of a variety of publications. Picking up a camera for the first time while serving as a South African Navy Diver in the 80’s, Marc continued to shoot and dive his way around the world as a scuba instructor. Cutting his teeth in the era of film, Marc has shot a variety of equipment and formats, from 35mm to large format 8X10. With the coming of age of digital, he has realized the mountain of new opportunities that exist and continues to push the edge with new gear to produce images rarely seen. For almost 20 years, he divided his time between his birth place of South Africa and the Cayman Islands until moving to North Carolina in 2003. Marc and his wife Laura live in Morehead City, North Carolina, on the beautiful Crystal Coast. |
