| Introduction | Akari Ueoka has been a resident of Maui since Oct. '01. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from University of Hawai`i in '08. Currently, she teaches a 2nd grade at a local public school. She is originally from Kochi, Japan and has a younger brother. She lived in Tokyo from age 8 to 15 and moved back to Kochi after graduating from a middle school. Dancing has been an important part of her life since she was a little girl, and during her high school years, she devoted herself to the rhythmic gymnastics, jazz dance, and Yosakoi dance. Now, she studies a classical Indian dance called Odissi under a guidance of Sarala Dandeker, and it has become her main focus of dancing life. In her spare time, she enjoys surfing, dancing, and updating her blog. -- 上岡安佳里 2001年10月よりハワイ州マウイ島に滞在。2008年にハワイ大学教育学部卒業。小学校教員の資格を取得。現在、地元の公立小学校にて二年生を教えている。高知県出身。弟一人。小、中学時代を東京で過ごし、高校時代は高知に戻り当時出会った新体操、ジャズダンス、よさこい踊りに没頭。踊ることは小さい頃から大切なことであり、現在はインドの伝統舞踊であるオディッシィをサララ・ダンデカー師の下で学んでいる。時間の許す限りサーフィン、ダンス、ブログを更新することを楽しむ。 |
