| Interests | I manage two blogs--Maria Parloa and Class Notes. Both reflect my own views and research. I currently live in New England and serve on the Amesbury School Committee. I have been on the search for Maria Parloa since the fall of 2003. While there is a significant amount of information about Parloa's years after she is 27, there is almost no information that I can find about her foundation years. These are the years I dream most about. I imagine her walking the streets of Portsmouth, NH (where I was born) at the time of the Civil War. I know she was working, shopping and living there. What was her life like? Who influenced her? Where did she live? How did she get by as an orphan. Parloa is endlessly fascinating to me. I am hoping by making my search more widely know on the internet, it will lead to even more interesting discoveries. |
