| Introduction | If you are a scrabbler, you can decipher my name from HALIDOM - as an anagram of it spells my name ! I hailed from the 'republic' of Besut, that district in Trengganu bordering the state of Kelantan. It is often referred to as a 'republic' in jest as the district is too far from the state administrative centre in Kuala Trengganu, and not a part of Kelantan though the district populace speak the Kelantanese lingo. Bred in the prestigious 'elite school' Malay College Kuala Kangsar for 7 seven years prior to going to New Zealand. An Electrical Engineer by profession (from Auckland University) but have had colorful career paths - from an engineer with the government Broadcasting Department, to sales and marketing with GEC of Britain and Ericsson of Sweden before becoming a full-fledged banker, initially with a commercial bank but later as GM of a merchant bank. Switched back to technical line in 1994 to start and head a private commercial radio nation-wide network - and then another ! End 0f 2000 saw me as an entrepreneur, managing my own outfit in the business of systems integration primarily in broadcasting, and event management. |
