Introduction | I am a teacher, writer, editor, college counselor, mediator, spouse, parent, newyorkophile, internet junkie, and optimistic skeptic (or skeptical optimist). I can laugh, snarl, and chew gum at the same time. Bach and Jon Stewart get me through. I have an M.S. from Bank Street College, an Ed.M. from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA Extension Services. I work with students and teachers from pre-K to grad school and I create print, video, and Web-based curriculum materials in language arts, social skills, health, social studies, and science. I also write children’s stories, personal essays, and poems. Recently I coordinated a mentoring program for teachers at a high school in New York City. Currently I am working with preschools in New York City as a literacy coach. |
