| Introduction | Hey, im Amelia, some call me Mia, i was born & brought up in the heart of Snowdonia in beautiful North Wales & i now live by the sea in a little village called Moelfre on Anglesey. I have a very lovely but extremely strong willed five yr old daughter called Llawen, when she finally arrived on christmas day, we wanted to give her a welsh name & one which had some significance to the special day on which she was born, around christmas time the welsh say nadolig Llawen literally meaning joyous christmas so we decided to call her Llawen which translates to Joyous in welsh. So i've been very much a full-time mum for a good five years now, which i'm thouroughly enjoying may i add. But all has changed quite a bit in the past few months as she has just started school full time. I love spending time with my family. I have a great relationship with both of my parents which i think is very fortunate, as not everyone does. We have great times together. I can be quite a creative person when i put my mind to it, i like to make my own cards and clothes etc, used to make clothes for myself a few years ago, but these day's if i get the time, i tend to make things for Llawen. |
| Interests | Dancing, cooking and eating nice food, travelling, painting kids faces (and adults... in UV paints!!), having fun days out with family and friends, doing exciting things on the the spur of the moment, walking in the mountains, on beaches etc. I really enjoy driving, which is handy, as i have to do quite a bit of that living in wales!! Shopping for clothes etc (yey... thank god 4 charity shops!!), festivals, drinking red wine in front of a roaring fire, seeing friends, going out.....................etc, etc, etc!!! |
| Favorite movies | Braveheart, last of the mohicans, bridget jones's diary 1 and 2, Crash (i love this film sooo much!!), pretty woman, some like it hot (my absolute favourite old black and white with maralyn monroe and jack lemon...absolutely hillarious!!), willow, shawshank redemption, legend, labarinth, underworld, lord of the rings ~ titanic, circle of friends/tara road, dirty dancing (watched approx 100+ when i was about 11!!) i must also admit to liking all the super cheesy chic-flicks... especially all the dancing one's like save the last dance! |
| Favorite music | I love music... i was brought-up listening to a variety of different music from heavy rock/metal to african to traditional irish folk to techno... but some of my favourites have to be; the orb, deep forest, afro celt, baba maal, enigma, system 7, mory kante's 'yeke yeke', seal, Katie Melua (saw her play at glastonbury... she's great!), mark irsham ('touch of light'), prodigy, dreadzone, nitin sawhney, cafe del mar, zero seven, tarantism, manu chao, massive attack, martin bennet, Davy Spillane ~ christy moore, planxty... and i also like the odd pop/chart song like nelly futardo's 'say it right' ~ christina aguillera's 'dirty' ~ cassie's 'me and u' ~ shakira (i actually like most of her music), rihanna's 'disturbia' etc...etc...and pretty much anything else which happens to include the Irish/Scottish pipes!! But if i listed every piece of music i liked, i'd be here forever!! |
| Favorite books | Since having my daughter i haven't had the time to read much, but when i was a kid i absolutely loved reading, especially all the famous fives...and i'll get to read them all over again when Llawen's a bit older, or an even better idea, she can read them to me! |
