| Introduction | I'm an Ambulanceman - and have been since 1981. I'm based on the wonderful Isles of Scilly, where I have the opportunity to visit all the inhabited off-islands all year round, as well as the main island of St Mary's, where we live I update both my blogs on an informal basis, dependant on my shifts, what pictures I have taken recently and the busyness of life. For me it's very rewarding to trawl through my huge collection of photographs, amassed over the years. Taking me back through some terrific memories of walks, beachcombing, visiting the pub, watching wildlife, chatting to old friends or simply sitting and watching the world go by. Bliss. It's equally enjoyable to look through my recently taken photos and chose which ones to put together for my Meanderings and to then do the research needed to put some 'meat on the bones' to produce a hopefully worthwhile blog - and then to plan the next blogs theme. Enjoy my world - sometimes a bit odd, sometimes a bit questioning and sometimes a bit eccentric - but always well intentioned.... |
| Interests | Exploring the wonderful Isles of Scilly, their history, geology, characters, wildlife - in fact anything to do with the islands... Wandering with my camera and marvelling in the simple yet breathtaking beauty of nature. Enjoying Dartmoor and the better bits of Plymouth, when back on the big rock Driving my old Ferguson TEF-20 tractor, simply the best thing I drive. Forget £150,000 front line ambulances, give me my old grey Fergie any day ! |
| Favorite movies | Kelly's Heroes, pretty much anything with Jennifer Aniston in it (I'm easily pleased), Local Hero. |
| Favorite music | Good, honest music - by musicians who can play instruments, not just sit there and look pretty. And who can write music, not just do endless cover versions. |
| Favorite books | Any really good, old fashioned, pictorial encyclopaedia, showing Britain when it was truly GREAT, not the bankrupt, self-centred mess we seem to be in today. |
What reason do you have to believe the earth is flat?
Computers - can you trust them ? Any machine that you stop by pressing the 'start' button is pretty suspect I feel. It wouldn't be advisable with a lathe....
