| Introduction | The Dinner Project meets once a month. Friends and colleagues are invited to bring a dish to share. During dinner, we present educational information on the selected charity and social issue it addresses. Each person is asked to donate what they would normally spend on a meal to the cause being presented. Every month a different charity is selected and monetary donations are not always requested. Often local organizations will request in-kind donations such as canned goods, clothing, household items or books. 100% of the proceeds go directly to the charity. The Dinner Project does not have offices or staff; just people working together to help others. The work is donated by the co-founders and their friends who share the commitment to making a difference in the community and the world we all share. Donations and in-kind services are also donated by local businesses. |
