IntroductionAndrés Sandoval studied Architecture at University of São Paulo, and works as an illustrator since 2001. He was invited to attend The Biennial of Illustration of Bratislava (Slovakia), and Montreuil Children's Book Fair (France), where he conducted an illustration workshop and presented the drawings of Amazonas, published in Brazil and France and winner of National Foundation of Children's and Youth's Book's Prize for Best Retelling Book of 2003 (FNLIJ/Brazil). In 2006, teached illustration at Tomie Ohtake Institute (São Paulo) and began a monthly collaboration with Piauí magazine, illustrating a fixed section called "Esquinas". Developed textile patterns for brazilian brands. In 2007 and 2008 exhibited a series of articulated paper objects at galleries Gravura Brasileira (São Paulo) and Florence Antonio (São Paulo), and illustrated books from Língua Geral, Girafa, Editora 34 and Companhia das Letras. With a group of 11 illustrators and Government funding, founded a silk-screen magazine called Charivari, and offered illustration workshops at SESC Pompéia.
