| Introduction | That's me to the right in the picture, with Father Andrew at his skete in a beautiful remote canyon in Cañones, New Mexico. While a seminarian in the early 1980s I did a chaplaincy internship in a mental hospital -- and discovered that I was a better therapist than I was a chaplain. So I've made a career in mental health, first as a psychotherapist, now as a consultant and public health researcher and administrator. Currently I'm the Director of Quality Management at a psychiatric facility. I have a research interest in the relationship between the spiritual life and emotional development, mental health promotion, therapy, and recovery. |
