| Introduction | Jayna was born with a rare brain disorder called hemimegalencephaly which caused her to have thousands of seizures in the first month of her life. She underwent radical brain surgery at 28 days old, to disconnect the entire right half of her brain. As a result of the surgery, Jayna is partially blind on her left side, has no use of her left hand, and has little control of the left side of her body. Today she operates with just half of her brain. Jayna is an amazing child and continues to develop, reaching new goals every year.
