Introduction	Prof. Virk received his Masters in Physics from AMU, Aligarh (1963) Doctorate in Nuclear Physics from Marie Curie University, Paris (France) in 1972 with highest citation of TRES HONORABLE. He has 45 years of Teaching & Research Experience and served in Punjabi University, Patiala and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Professor Virk has published 365 research papers in national and international journals; 33 books and 125 articles on Science Education and Science Policy in India. His research publications cover a vast range of fields; starting from Elementary Particles, Geochronology, Radiation Damage in Solids, Earthquake Prediction Studies using Radon & Helium as Precursors, Heavy Ion Irradiation Effects in Polymers, Nanotechnology and History and Philosophy of Science. He is recipient of Shiromani Sahitkar Award of Punjab Govt. for his literary and scientific writings in Punjabi.
