| Introduction | An Educator of Foreign Languages, Chican@ Studies, Afro-American Black Studies and Advisory at Animo South Los Angeles Charter High School. Carlos' research interest are school communities, respect, student values, dialogue, leadership, identity, stereotypes, gender, sexism, homophobia, heterosexism, immigration, xenophobia and social capital as they relate to the urban student experience and student leadership. Carlos employs Critical Pedagogy and Race Theory along with Queer Studies and the Caring Theory to analyze student leadership development intersects. Currently an Ed.D. student at the University of Southern California in the Teacher Education in Multicultural Societies concentration. |
