| Introduction | The Zambezi Valley is home to the Tonga, often referred to as the 'forgotten people'. Siabuwa is a rural community in this valley, 100km from Binga, 515km and 500km from Harare and Bulawayo respectively. Siabuwa has an estimated population of 50,000 people. Siabuwa is where the effects of drought, famine and disease are evident. Infrastructure is depleted. Siabuwa represents places like Nenyuka, Kalungwizi, Malube, Siabuwa, Mujere, Chibuyu, Tshunga, Nagangara, Simchembo, Sinasengwe and Sinapande covering a radius of 70km. Humanity is faced with one fundamental question: How much longer should we wait while other people are suffering, and at what point will our irrepressible drive for progress propel us to transgress those limits on which the less privileged depends? We ask you donor community and individuals to help us think this question through. It is with your assistance that Siabuwa development can not only occur but also be successful. |
