Introduction	Alexander Bethke was born in 1982 near Cologne, Germany. After receiving his Abitur (= German university entrance qualification), he started reading Media Technology at Fachhochschule Oldenburg-Ostfriesland-Wilhelmshaven (FH-OOW) - University of Applied Sciences. He joined the Neo Arena project, based in Northern-Finnish Oulu, 2006 in his practical training period. In late 2007 and in continued cooperation with Neo Arena, he wrote his diploma thesis on extending the streaming architecture of the Helsinki-based live-streaming service floobs.com for streaming from mobile devices. Since graduating from FH-OOW, he has been continuing work for Neo Arena and floobs, specialising on Flash Video, Java, Linux and Open Source streaming servers, but also seeing his position on the interface of creative, technical and business interests. Alexander Bethke lives in Oulu, Northern Finland.
