Introduction For many years I traveled to teach cloth dollmaking as well as taught from my home studio. I took time off for my health and now I find myself branching out into other arts and mediums as well as returning to those techniques I taught years ago, even before my dollmaking days. Needle and Ribbon Embroidery are just one example. I want to work on more mixed media pieces beginning with a canvas, as well as designing more dolls. It feels great to be back in the saddle again!
Interests Artist stuff - Renassance; faeries, gothic, angels, vampires, obviously a wide range. Sometimes it's hard to select which project dancing in my head I should work on next. I also enjoy gardening as long as I can do it by following the shade around the yard as the sun moves through the day. I don't enjoy the sun on my skin or directly in my eyes, though Sunshine in my studio seems to encourage joy.
Favorite Movies You Got Mail, Princess Bride, all the Marvel Movies especially Iron Man (Drool!), Pirates of the Caribbean, Labyrinth, Shakespeare in Love, the version of Taming the Shrew in Shakespeare Retold, I could go on. I love movies with marvelous costuming when that is only one glorious aspect, and movies that combine a good plot, some action, some romance and maybe a twist ending. I have quite a large collection of movies.
Favorite Music Musicians: James Taylor, Genesis, Elton John, Pink Floyd, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Moody Blues, Enya, Simon and Garfunkel, Porcupine Tree, Spock's Beard / Neil Morse, Dream Theatre and Mozart. Many movie sound tracks by Danny Elfman, Howard Shore, John Williams and Hans Zimmer to name a few.
Favorite Books My Favorite author is Terry Pratchett and I love his Discworld Series. I adore the art books of James Christiansen, Brian and Wendy Froud, Daniel Merriam, Edward Gorey, Tim Burton, Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell, Amy Brown, Jessica Galbraith, John Howe, Alan Lee... basically fantasy art books in a wide variety of styles and format.
