Location Forsyth, Missouri, United States
Introduction Steve “Moose” Robinson joined the Navy in January 1970, and reported for SEAL training in the fall of that year. After graduating from SEAL training in 1971, he reported for duty with SEAL Team ONE where he served on three separate deployable SEAL platoons, worked with the SEAL’s Intermediate Maintenance Activity repairing and modifying 2-man submarines, and served as the SEAL Team ONE Communications and Electronics Instructor. In 1973, Steve transferred to Inshore Undersea Warfare Group ONE where he worked with the Navy’s Marine Mammal program and as a member of Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare Team ONE. He left the Navy in 1978, earned a college degree, and went to work in the defense industry as a Programmer/Analyst, and then as a Soviet Threat Analyst on the Strategic Defense Initiative, among other projects. Steve returned to college in pursuit of a second degree, and became fluent in the Russian Language. He ultimately left the defense industry during the industry-wide downsizing in 1993, and turned his hobby of blacksmithing into a full-time job.
