| Introduction | As of March 2011, I am studying machine stenography for eventual court reporting or captioning services. So far (it's July '11) it is going well... expected grad date of December 2013? My background is in visual art and graphic design—BFA, Mason Gross School of the Arts (at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ), 2009. I have written and designed advertising for Rutgers University Health Services, usually for H.O.P.E. (Health Outreach Promotion and Education, a division of RHS). |
| Interests | I am interested...advertising and outreach for health; art for activism; branding and marketing for nonprofits; print/multimedia/industrial design & artists' book work; becoming comfortable with the business aspect of a career in the arts. Hobbies? Hiking (esp. ADK), reading, film watching, cooking. |
| Favorite movies | Too many to mention- I am a movie fiend- but short answer is: Rubin & Ed, Trent Harris,' masterpiece, a picaresque existential buddy movie set in the Utahn desert, starring, Crispin "Hellion" Glover, & Howard Hesseman. made in 1990/1. |
| Favorite music | Currently (this changes regularly) enjoying Psychedelic internet radio stations. favorite of all time is anything by Yo La Tengo. Often like to work with classical on. Or: Antioch Radio 1710, on the Internet. Classic radio serials from around 50 years ago. and ads! Open to new music of most genres. |
| Favorite books | Vance Studley's Left-Handed Calligraphy, vegetarian cookbooks, folksy non-fiction, picaresque novels, pulp horror books, graphic novels of the Clowes/Ware/Satrapi, sort, Krazy & Ignatz, Winsor McCay, artist books, old & moldy books, Edward Tufte, T.C. Boyle, Anthony Burgess, V.S. Ramachandran, Vincent McHugh, Albert Camus, R. Crumb, J. Krishnamurti, Woody Allen, Jean Kilbourne, reference books, Mingering Mike, word & logic puzzles, Andrea Dworkin, Cornel West, Edward Abbey, L.F. Celine, Bukowski prose, Joyce Carol Oates, Sherman Alexie, Will Self, David Sedaris, Patricia Highsmith...I really love books and collect old paperbacks for the covers.
