Introduction | Both education and experience have developed my abilities to work well across disciplines. From interdisciplinary to multidisciplinary, I have built resilient working relationships. I have intentionally focused on my career on building connections cross networks and systems. academic and private settings. I am trained in comparative medicine from fish to rabbits to primates which has led to a proficiency in applying concepts across disciplines and to embrace systems at the macro level as well as micro level. As a leader, I have held roles in education and in the veterinary profession at the state and national level. I have a scholarly approach as an educator. As a practitioner, I have delivered care in lab animal, zoo, shelter, industry and private practice. In these settings, I am familiar with regulatory responsibilities as well as the financial and budgetary constraints. I am dedicated to community and have a long-standing commitment to disaster preparedness and resilience. Through public engagement and social media, I actively promote science and veterinary medicine. |
