| Introduction | I am a textile artist born in Russia and currently based in Amsterdam. My main interest lies in exploring the origins of things, as I believe that by understanding the source I can redefine and revalue the existing realms in order to find alternatives: from alternatives of existing systems to cultural dogmas to lifestyles to everyday objects. In my practice I am not restricting myself to a specific side of artistic domain but rather balancing between two different disciplines, combining theory with practice, writing with making, concept with visual work, craft with art in order to create the moment of juxtaposition between two opposites that reflects both worlds or collides them. |
