| Introduction | Hello from Edward and Freda, now in Windy Nook. We have been in love with Luxor since our first visit in 1997, since when we have spent as much time there as we could. Soaking up the striking differences between the local culture and that of any Western society, we have learned that the more you find out about the Egyptians; (and probably Arabs in general) the less you actually know! We loved to introduce our guests to the town centre of Luxor, the restaurants and cafes, the shops and souks, the beggars and the bandits! They are all still there, and we liked to ensure that we gave our guests the right ammunition to deal with whatever came along. We no longer let our beautiful guest apartment in Luxor as the work was becoming too physically arduous for us older folks. Sadly, we've now sold our Luxor home and our guest flat, although we do hope to return to Egypt, but just as tourists in future. |
