Introduction | Hi all! I'm an MLS student at the University at Buffalo, editor of Library Student Journal, father of three young daughters... I've worked for several years in libraries in Colorado and Scotland, in ILL, reference, circulation, maps, and most recently cataloguing. I hit that glass ceiling people with a lot of experience but no MLS tend to hit, so decided I'd better go back to school. My interest is currently focused on open access publishing, the future of scholarly information, international perspectives on effective LIS education, and creating BETTER OPACS. Presently my dual life goals are to raise happy healthy children, and to establish Library Student Journal as a model of open access peer-reviewed scholarly publishing and build up enough momentum that it will last long after I graduate. |
