Introduction	I've been quilting for about 4 years. My mom was an avid sewer... everything from Barbie doll clothes to custom made draperies. I never realized what a talent she had, and am sorry I didn't tap into her knowledge. I began quilting the last few months she was alive, so I'm happy to say she had the opportunity to see that I was becoming interested in something that was such an integral part of her life. After her passing, I inherited all of her sewing machines (my sisters didn't know how to use them!), and I began sewing on her 1940's Singer which is located in my closet... hense the name of my blog! I'm a working mother who has a terrific husband that shares in all responsibilities. This gives me the opportunity to do things that I enjoy, whether it's quilting, kickboxing, or pursuing my interests in nutrition. While I currently hold an undergraduate in Communications and an MBA in Management, I've recently received my Certificate as a Holistic Health Counselor. I have always had a passion for nutrition and wellness, and it is through this blog that I hope to share my knowledge and interests -- for both quilting and eating well. Enjoy!!
